The Baby Elsa Cake

Warning! This cake has been called "quite disturbing." And I can't say I don't disagree. It was an odd request for sure. But I expect nothing less from our outrageous and artsy friends, Jeff and Liv. We really pushed ourselves to make this cake as life like as possible. When they said "fetus cake" We answered, "just born!" With the umbilical cord and scissors and all!
This one has received a lot of attention so far. Some bad, but mostly good. What it comes down to is, we created a cake that is truly a piece of art. Whether you are grossed out or amazed...

  1. And I'd just like to add that she is not stillborn. Most babies are blue as soon as they come out. We were just trying to go realistic. You guys mastered it beautifully. Let's just hope that Elsa isn't actually this big.

  5. My only GAH moment is that baby is blue... so my mind says you made a cake of a dead baby. A freshly born dead baby. So..... yah.... ( but it is a total work of art, props to you for that!)

  6. It's the tray and scissors I'm really struggling with. Looks like a dead baby about to be dissected. Yes, it takes talent to make something that real-looking, but still. Gross.

  8. I'd like to say that this cake looks delicious!

If you're wondering why I say that, it's because I'm an atheist, and we're known to eat da' babies...

    :p

In all seriousness, though, that is deliciously disturbing...

  9. I have to say, this is the first time I've ever seen a cake of this sort. Interesting. Unique. You are very talented I must say. Good job :-)

  10. It's much, much better than the c-section cakes I've seen on cake wrecks. My babies were never blue so it is a bit disturbing, though I know it's normal. Good to know this is all in fun, certainly, and it IS a work of art!

  11. Amazing! That is so... I can´t find words to describe how much I respect an artist who dares to do something not-so-usual. Wow.

And you´re other cakes are just as amazing work of art as this, but this is so unique that it makes this one special. Beautiful and disturbing. Like The miracle of birth :)
