A loyal customer of ours ordered a cake for her friend, who's nickname is 'peanut.' So, naturally, the concept was a giant peanut! Then we added a little figurine of the birthday girl (who is gorgeous and highly fashionable!) and her french bulldog. I really love this cake. I love how it came together. I think the colors relate perfectly together and I just loved dressing the figurine and making teeny tiny heels and teeny belt! So fun!
Awesome! How did you make the peanut?
ReplyDeletei love your blog and your cakes! that's really a masterpiece!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys! I loved making this one!
ReplyDeleteTo make the peanut: We hand carved it (while looking at an actual peanut for inspiration) Then crumb coat and fondant went on. Then I used a round ball (I unscrewed a piece from my paper towel holder...so crafty!) to make the indentions, then some airbrush and....whaalllla! A peanut!
Great job! Your cakes are adorable~
ReplyDeleteI have been asked to make a very similar cake for a friend's birthday! What size cake(s) did you use before you carved them?
ReplyDeleteHey, I have to make this for a challenge and need some ideas for the inside of the cake, is it sponge or something more dense? Sorry if this comes across as asking to steal a recipe, I don't need the whole thing but some pointers would help. I'm actually allergic to peanuts and my friends thought giving me this cake to bake would be funny. Thank you Jana! Have a great day.
